Catholic bishops seen praying for priest infected with Ebola in Congo

A photo of Catholic bishops praying for a priest allegedly infected with Ebola in Congo has gone viral.
The Catholic priest who got infected with Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo has been identified as Fr.Lucian Ambunga.
Katherine Overcamp of Catholic Relief Services revealed that the Fr. Lucian contracted Ebola while ‘taking care of someone who passed away.’ She added the priest is ‘responding well to treatment’, the Catholic News Service reported.

NaijaFavorite had earlier reported that two Ebola patients who fled hospital in the city of Mbandaka, Congo, on Monday, May 21, attended a prayer meeting with 50 people hours before they died, Jean-Clement Cabrol, an emergency medical coordinator at Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders), said on Thursday, May 24.
Meanwhile, the National Institute of Health (NIH) Clinical Centre, the United States’ largest hospital for clinical research had said that American researchers have started the first-in-human trial evaluating an experimental treatment for Ebola virus disease.
This is good news after the deadly disease in the heavily populated port city in northwest Congo that is believed to have killed 22 people since April.
