Gernot Rohr names 23-man squad to face South Africa and Uganda

- Gernot Rohr has released his 23-man squad for 2019 AFCON qualifier against South Africa
- Nigeria will face the Bafana Bafana on November 17, and will also face Uganda three days later
- Mikel Obi and Wifred Ndidi were left out of the squad by the Super Eagles coach
Super Eagles gaffer Gernot Rohr has invited 23 Nigerian football stars for the 2019 AFCON qualifying match against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in November.
Captain of the team John Obi Mikel was not named on the list, and Ahmed Musa is expected to be given the armband against South Africa in Johannesburg.
Former U17 World Cup winning forward Victor Osimhen returns after a long time out with another U17 World Cup winning forward Samuel Chukwueze earning a first call.
Super Eagles of Nigeria who are currently topping Group E of the series with nine points battle eight pointer and second placed South Africa at the FNB Stadium, Johannesburg on Saturday, 17th November in one of the Match-day 5 fixtures.
Nigeria were beating in Uyo in the reverse fixture, and a win for the Super Eagles will help their quest to qualify for the 2019 AFCON after missing the last two editions.

Meanwhile, all invited players have been told to report direct in Asaba on Monday, 12th November to begin preparations for the tie against South Africa and Uganda three days later.
The central defender who has been impressive this season has not been recalled into the squad since the German took charge of the Super Eagles team in 2016.
