Sue Obasanjosue-obasanjo-defamation-character-oshimhole-tells-atiku

- The APC's national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, has said that PDP's flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar should sue the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo
- Oshiomhole said that the only way for Atiku to redeem his image is by taking a legal action against Obasanjo - The APC national boss said that it is not enough for Obasanjo to simply recant on his negative remarks against Atiku The All Progressives Congress (APC)'s national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, on Thursday, January 31, said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has reasons to sue the Nigeria's former president, Olusegun Obasanjo. Oshiomhole claimed that for Obasanjo to have defamed the character of Atiku on several occasions, recanting his negative remarks is clearly not enough, The Nation reports.
The APC national chairman said this in Kano state during President Muhammadu Buhari's Next Level campaign in the state. He insisted that Atiku, in order to salvage his reputation, should take a legal action against Obasanjo for calling his integrity into question many times. Oshiomhole stated: “If Obasanjo says that Atiku is corrupt, but because of his hatred against President Buhari, he is ready to forgive Atiku, does that cleanse Atiku from corruption? No! “The only way Atiku can clean his name is to go to court. If Atiku did not sue Obasanjo for libel, that means everything that was said about him was correct. And if it is correct, then, he is not the right candidate to rule Nigeria.
“Again, Mr. President, you said you are going to lift 50,000 persons from poverty and you are doing it but they say you are slow, but when Atiku promised to empower seven million people, they have already thrown 14 million people out of their jobs.
“All the textile companies in Sharada and Bompai in Kano, Gaskiya Textile is dead, all the factories in these areas, who killed them? It is PDP, Obasanjo as vice president. How can he now say he is going to give our jobs when presided over Industrial obituaries in Kano, Lagos and every other place in Nigeria.”
Oshiomhole reportedly said both Obasanjo and Atiku would be divinely punished at the polls in February, 2019. He added that Atiku’s political infidelity would be his main albatross at the polls. He said this on Tuesday, December 4, when he received women leaders of the APC from across the local governments of his home state, Edo who were at his private office on a solidarity visit.
